Communications Officer

We are looking for a Communications Officer to enhance our visibility, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and amplify the impact of our rewilding initiatives. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies, managing social media channels, engaging with media outlets, and producing compelling content that tells the story of our rewilding efforts. The selected candidate will also oversee branding, press relations, and public outreach to ensure that rewilding work in the Danube Delta is effectively communicated to diverse audiences.

The position requires strong writing and storytelling skills, experience in digital marketing or journalism, and the ability to adapt messages for different platforms. The Communications Officer will work closely with Rewilding Europe, Rewilding Romania, and Rewilding Ukraine teams to align communication strategies and create engaging narratives that inspire support for nature restoration.

The role is home-based with fieldwork in Tulcea and the Danube Delta and offers a full-time contract with a 90-day trial period.

Rewilding efforts in the Danube Delta focus on wetland and river restoration, the return of keystone species, and the development of a nature-based economy in collaboration with local communities.

Enterprise Officer

We are also seeking an Enterprise Officer to develop and implement strategies that foster nature-based economic opportunities in the Danube Delta. This role is key to supporting local businesses, landowners, and entrepreneurs in developing sustainable enterprises that contribute to both nature restoration and economic growth. The selected candidate will work on creating innovative business models, analysing market potential, and facilitating investments that promote biodiversity-friendly economic activities, such as eco-tourism, wetland carbon initiatives, sustainable fisheries, and local food cooperatives.

The Enterprise Officer will play a crucial role in establishing partnerships with local stakeholders, designing investment plans for new and existing businesses, and identifying financial mechanisms that encourage sustainability. Experience in business development, impact investing, financial planning, or environmental economics is highly valued for this position.

This role is home-based with frequent fieldwork in the Danube Delta and offers a full-time contract with a 90-day trial period.
